The 35th Annual Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant
The First Baptist Church of Fort Lauderdale presents an award-winning South Florida holiday tradition, "The 35th Annual Fort Lauderdale Christmas Pageant." The pageant showcases classic holiday songs, but there's always something new that can't be missed in each year's powerful retelling of the story of the first Christmas, complete with live animals, flying angels and beautiful vocal performances. The Broadway-style stage celebration is the work of nearly 1,000 volunteers, including 300 performers who, each year, push themselves to deliver a show that's more dynamic and powerful than the last. This one-of-a-kind celebration brings together family, friends, and loved ones for a joyous night of entertainment and wonder.

700 CLUB - On the air continuously since 1966, it is one of the longest-running programs in broadcast history. The program is hosted by Pat Robertson, Terry Meeuwsen, and Gordon Robertson, with news anchor John Jessup. Tom Brock was born in Omaha, Nebraska and graduated from Bethel College in St. Paul Minnesota with a degree in Biblical and Theological Studies. He received a Masters of Divinity degree from Luther Seminary in St. Paul, Minnesota. He was ordained a Lutheran pastor in 1979 and served Hope Lutheran Church in Minneapolis for 29 years. He served on the board of reform groups attempting to bring Biblical renewal to the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America before he left that denomination over their position on issues such as abortion, homosexuality and universalism. Pastor Brock for 24 years has had a television ministry in Minneapolis and now can be seen nationwide.

Sperry also pays Dustin to mow the lawn of a stubborn, elderly neighbor, Mr. Barnes, although Dustin is told not to let Mr. Barnes know the benefactor of this kindness. Throughout the summer, many other boys in the neighborhood get involved in the Bible study, including Nick, who, after a couple of encounters with Mr. Sperry, becomes remorseful and turns from his bullying ways.
